InnovateHER

We’re thrilled to be hosting an InnovateHER competition on December 2nd  at Chestnut Innovation Center in Amesbury, MA.. Want to compete in our local competition? Keep reading to figure out how you can enter your business and be one of our eight participants!

What is InnovateHER? InnovateHER is a national prize competition sponsored by the Small Business Administration.  This event is a local challenge where our winner will move to the national semi-final round to compete for prizes totaling $70,000.  

Attend Our Event:  28 Carrots is hosting the 2016 InnovateHER Challenge in partnership with the SBA and sponsored by Microsoft.  $70,000 in cash prizes will be given to one woman entrepreneur. Anyone can attend the Challenge Party and Networking event! Come watch our finalists pitch their innovative ideas to the judges and network with local investors and entrepreneurs.  All business plans presented must support women and families.

Enter Your Business Idea: Want to enter the contest and present at our December 2nd event?  Here is your chance to get your business idea heard and potentially supported by the local investment community and to advance to the Challenge Summit in 2016. Check out our info below to learn more.

How Do I Compete? The local competition will be a submission based only competition round. Each company, startup, or venture will be required to submit the following six items:

  1. Executive Summary
  2. Pitch Deck between 10-20 slides
  3. Business Plan: maximum length: 20 pages, including attachments
  4. Company Logo (Optional)
  5. Headshot of founder(s) (Optional)
  6. Video (Optional)
    1. May not exceed two minutes
    2. Externally hosted. Please send link.
    3. Provide the opportunity to explain
      1. Where the idea for your business came from.
      2. Why or how you were motivated to start this business.
      3. What has been, or do you see as, your biggest obstacle.
      4. Why your business best fits the three challenge criteria.

NOTE: Incomplete submissions will NOT be considered. No. 4-6 are optional but No.1-3 are mandatory.  Last date to apply is November 30.  We will pick 8 women to present at the Challenge Party on December 2.  The winner will be announced December 3.  You may ask any questions or apply HERE
